Q-01:
Is it necessary to be a Buddhist to do mindfulness
meditation?
A Lay
Devotee
A-01:
Definitely not. For instance, it is not necessary to
be an English or an American to speak English.
Anyone who learns how to speak the language is able
to do so.
S. N. Goenka is, probably, one of the most well
known meditation masters ever to live. People came
to his meditation retreat holding their own
religions and faiths. They went back with the same
religion and faith as well. But most of them
recognized that they were better persons and could
handle their mental weaknesses better than before.
Meditation can be done by anybody. One only needs
proper guidance.
